with Joseph Moreno, Prof em. MA, nephew of Jakob Levy Moreno, we are glad to start a first fund raising seminar in Bad Vöslau (Voeslau) for the Moreno house.
We will have a guided tour to the places where Jacob Levy Moreno worked and lived from 1918 to 1925 and founded Psychodrama and we will feature a musical dramatization of J.L. Moreno's seminal work, "The Words of the Father", written while he lived in Maital 4 (valley of May).
Bad Vöslau is 25km South of Vienna and the airport. A train from Vienna South station takes half an hour. With the announced Hotel Stefanie you can make an arrangement to pick you up at the airport or train station in Bad Vöslau, it will be cheaper than a taxi. A double will cost per person 30 Euros with breakfast, a single room 45 Euros.
I think you will love this seminar and will get a lot of inspiration and energy of this place of origin for psychodrama and the hot springs of the spa, which is 50 meter besides the Moreno house.
Hope to see you there, warmly
"Acting your inner music: music in psychodrama and group therapy processes."
Joseph Moreno, Prof. Emeritus of music therapy at Maryville, University and Di*rector of the Moreno Institute for the Creative Arts Therapies in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
Moreno will begin the opening evening's session with an introduction to music therapy. This will be followed by a lecture, with visual and music support, titled "The Roots of Music, Art, Dance and Drama Therapies in Indigenous World Cultures".
Saturday will start the experimental work, and will include experiences in music and imagery, music and psychodrama, music and art therapy, music and dance therapy, improvisational music in individual and group therapy, music therapy and the blues, and more. If time allows possible lecture presentations may include the role of music in the Holocaust and the mystery of the musical savant syndrome.
The concluding session on Sunday will feature a musical dramatization of J.L. Moreno's seminal work, "The Words of the Father", written while he lived in Bad Vöslau. The music therapy techniques presented in the workshop will have immediate practical applications and are designed to be accessible for participants with no formal music training. Participants will be able to add new dimensions to their work through learning how to integrate music into their clinical practices. There will also be a presentation from Austrian students, who wrote their master theses on J.L. Moreno:
